It’s December 1st, and Christmas party season – but there are fears the Omicron variant may be the biggest party-pooper in town.
Messages are mixed. The head of the UK Health Security Agency, Dr Jenny Harries, has suggested people should cancel unnecessary socialising in the run-up to Christmas.
But Boris Johnson says new rules on wearing masks again are “proportionate” to the current threat.
He’s optimistic that the new Covid measures, like mandatory masks in shops, are temporary, and that this Christmas will be a success.
I went into Norwich city centre for BBC Radio Norfolk to ask people how they were feeling about their festive plans.
